The CPO band is open to everyone 18 years of age and older with a minimum 3 years playing experience (we typically play level 3 - 4 music) . Our members come from both military and civilian backgrounds and come together each week with a common goal of creating music in a safe, friendly and supportive environment.

Valid government issued photo ID is required to access CFB Esquimalt where the band rehearses.
As with all organizations, there are rules of conduct that members must abide by to remain in good standing. The CPO Band falls under the CPOs' Association and are guests of both CFB Esquimalt and the Naden Band. As such, band members must agree to represent these organizations appropriately at all times (including in social media). The CPO Band Constitution and Bylaws were updated in 2020 to provide updated inclusive language as well as address the realities of the internet and social media.
CPO Band members are encouraged, if financially possible, to also be members of the CPOs' Association.
The CPO Band wears the Chief and Petty Officers' Association (veterans) uniform.

Ties are available for loan or purchase, and the navy blazers are typically able to be loaned to members. Members are to purchase their own white shirt, grey slacks and black shoes.
